A boy drowned in a City of Hartford's public pool located in Pope Park. It appears that the boy was not discovered for some time. The Hartford police are presently investigating the incident.

Accoring to the Hartford Courant:

The city hires a security company to watch the pool at night. Caraballo said he did not know why the security company, which on Sunday started work for the 2006 summer season, did not stop the fence-cutting or the illegal swimming.

"Now the question becomes, what happened?" Caraballo said. "Where were they?"

This story will be followed as the investigation unfolds.
