Planes Still Flying with TWA 800 Problem

Incredibly, 10 years after the explosion on board TWA 800, the very same problem has still not been fully fixed despite the FAA's warning that the very same disaster will happen again. It is just a matter of time. The biggest opposition to the safety change - the airlines.

The airlines are contending that the FAA's safety analysis is flawed and their cost/benefit analysis is not calling for the safety change. Meanwhile, Boeing is installing a nitrogen safety system in all of its new aircraft because as the company has stated: it is the right thing to do. Unfortunately, it appears that the airlines have placed dollars over the safety of its passengers.
