  In West Hartford, Connecticut, a woman was struck by a car on Sunday night. She was taken to the hospital where she remains - fighting for her life. The woman was walking on Albany Avenue near Starkel Road in West Hartford at about 11 p.m. at the time of the incident. The accident remains under police investigation.

  A 57-year-old pedestrian who was hit by an SUV Thursday night is recovering this morning from head injuries, police said. The woman is in stable condition at Hartford Hospital, police said. The woman was struck while crossing Hartford Turnpike in Vernon, CT. The accident remains under investigation.

  In Seymour, a 45-year-old woman who hit a state police cruiser head-on while driving the wrong way on Route 8 has been arrested. She was arrested for driving while intoxicated and driving the wrong way among other charges. Fortunately, no one was injured during the accident near exit 22 at 1:53 a.m.

• East Hartford Car Accident Injures Police Officer

  A car accident in East Hartford has injured a police officer. Police said Officer Larry Henrickson was en route to work when his car and another car crashed at Homestead Avenue and Sigourney Street on Monday night.Emergency crews extricated Henrickson from his vehicle. The extent of the officer's injuries and injuries to the other driver are unknown at this time.

• Fatal Car Accident on I-91

  One person died in an accident that happened just before 5 a.m. today on I-91 northbound between exits 12 and 13 in North Haven. A second person was taken to an area hospital in serious condition. • Truck Rolls Over Car In Chesire

  Route 70 in Cheshire was closed Wednesday afternoon after a dump truck rolled over on top of a car.The dump truck rolled over on top of a car underneath the Interstate 84 overpass.   The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the death of a Milford truck driver hit by another truck in a recycling-materials yard Monday afternoon. Barry Pybus, of Milford, an employee of D'Amato Brothers Trucking Co., also of Milford, was struck and killed at Waste Conversion Technologies Inc., 221 Old Gate Lane.
