  A 57-year-old pedestrian who was hit by an SUV Thursday night is recovering this morning from head injuries, police said. The woman is in stable condition at Hartford Hospital, police said. The woman was struck while crossing Hartford Turnpike in Vernon, CT. The accident remains under investigation.

  In Seymour, a 45-year-old woman who hit a state police cruiser head-on while driving the wrong way on Route 8 has been arrested. She was arrested for driving while intoxicated and driving the wrong way among other charges. Fortunately, no one was injured during the accident near exit 22 at 1:53 a.m.

  A car accident in East Hartford has injured a police officer. Police said Officer Larry Henrickson was en route to work when his car and another car crashed at Homestead Avenue and Sigourney Street on Monday night.Emergency crews extricated Henrickson from his vehicle.
